A licensed pilot, avid rock climber, experienced mountain biker, and surfer, Jesse always appreciates a challenge. He and his wife, Christina, have four children. The family enjoys many of the activities that the Upper Peninsula offers, including skiing, mountain biking, and fishing. Jesse is a volunteer pilot for Northwoods AirLifeline and serves as a board director for multiple businesses, organizations, and nonprofits.

Jesse earned his personal finance degree from Northern Michigan University and is one of the youngest financial advisors ever to earn the CFP® professional designation, which he did at the age of 22.  Since earning his degree, Jesse has gone on to earn multiple accreditations to better serve his clients. Jesse has served as president of Bell Financial for 20 years, providing fee-based planning and advice for corporate and individual clients. Jesse exemplifies a work-hard, play-hard lifestyle and enjoys working with like-minded clients.

Jesse Bell is proud to have been recognized as a Summit Club advisor for 2020—a distinction based on annual production that places him among the top 20 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network. Each year, Commonwealth, the Registered Investment Adviser–broker/dealer that helps us process investment transactions on your behalf, recognizes Summit Club advisors by inviting them to an exclusive gathering of their peers, leading industry experts, and Commonwealth home office staff. Summit Club advisors benefit from an intensive learning and networking experience designed to help them hone their expertise, share best practices, and provide ever-higher levels of service, education, and leadership to their clients.

Stephanie is Bell Financial’s client service superstar, to say the least.  With more than 25 years of service experience, including 15 years at Bell Financial, Stephanie is an expert at anticipating client needs and creating a wonderful experience for all who visit. Active in her community, Stephanie and her husband, Chad, facilitate a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace program through their church, and she volunteers with the Ishpeming Noon Kiwanis and is a member of the Negaunee Elks Lodge. Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family; her son Tyler attends nearby Michigan Tech University, her two daughters and their families live in the Lansing area. Stephanie and Chad are going on 22 years of marriage and live in Negaunee with their dog Obi. They enjoy their grandchildren Logan, Lincoln, and Ally and wish they were closer. Stephanie’s kind smile is the first thing you’ll see when you walk through our doors. She loves her work and it shows!

Connor Mason

Paraplanner

fun picture ConnorConnor is an Ishpeming native and studied finance at Florida Gulf Coast University. After graduation, Connor returned North to start his career at Bell Financial as a paraplanner. In addition to delving into work at BFS, Connor is continuing his education by pursuing his CFP® designation. As an active community member, he sits on the board of a local golf course and volunteers with the Ishpeming Noon Kiwanis. If he's not studying for his CFP® or planning his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Lauren, you will find him out golfing, playing basketball, foosball (not a typo), or partaking in anything else competitive. He even brings his competitive spirit to work, where he forces the rest of us to participate in office game nights! Connor's drive to help others succeed and quick wit make him an integral part of the Bell Financial team.

Dennis L. Bell

Founder and Consultant

“At first, Dennis Bell wanted to be a hermit.” This opening line from a 1977 Mining Journal article profiling our company’s illustrious founder helps to highlight the incredible transformation Dennis underwent on his journey to today. His varied life experiences make for great conversation; ask him about his time spent hitchhiking across the country as a teenager or living on a hippie commune in Colorado; serving honorably in the U.S. Army in Okinawa, Japan, or building by hand a geodesic dome he designed with pencil and paper. After all this playing around, Dennis enrolled at Northern Michigan University and graduated with a degree in economics in 1983. Upon graduation, Dennis immediately began his financial services career as an agent with a large insurance company. In 1985, Dennis incorporated Bell Financial Services (then called Dennis L. Bell & Associates) to operate primarily as a third-party administrator to qualified retirement plans and eventually to be the conduit for providing investment and financial advice to individual clients. He built and ran the company, improving the lives of thousands of people, and retired after 30 years in the business. He remains on call to provide insight and support to the Bell Financial team. Dennis enjoys watching his grandkids play sports, traveling to other continents, and riding all of Marquette County’s best mountain bike trails.
